What is Android?

Android is a Linux based operating system for mobile devices like: smartphones and tablets.

Android OS is specially developed for applications. There are more than 4,00,000 apps in Android market. It is an open source.

Android, Inc. found in Palo alto in California united states by Andy Rubin. In October 2003 Google acquired Android, Inc. in August 2005.

The open handset alliance, a group of several companies was formed in 5th November 2007. Android Beta SDK was released in 12 November 2007.

How to Connect Android Phone to Computer?


We can connect Android phones to PC by USB cable or via WiFi

 
Please make sure you install all the computer drivers required.

Connecting your Android phone to the computer via USB cable:


Step 1 : Enable USB Debugging  

This step is absolutely essential to connect any Android device.


For Android 2.3                Settings > Applications > Development



For Android 4                   Settings > Developer options



For Android 4.2               * The “Developer Options” menu item is hidden
                                  1. Go to Settings -> About Phone.
                                  2. Go to “Build Number” at the end of the Scroll list.
                                  3. Tap on “Build Number” repeatedly (7 times).
                                  4. You are now a “Developer”, go back to the Setting page.
                                  5. You should see Developer Option menu item in setting list now.
                                  6. Open Developer Options and check USB debugging > OK

Step 2 : In some cases Stay awake option has to be enabled (if available).

Step 3 : Install the drivers and connect the phone to the computer.

Step 4 : Make sure that the phone is not set in Mass Storage mode

If an Attention dialog appears, click the OK button to confirm.
Now you are done.
